Key Features

  • A steel-reinforced structural panel ideally suited to a broad range of fire-resistant construction applications.
  • In roofs, gain the durability of Portland cement on a sloped roof. Nailable CemSteel roofing shingles are the solution to the problems of fire-retardant treated (FRT) plywood.
  • In walls, ideal for security wall sheathing or applications where impact and abuse is a concern (high shear/diaphragm resistance values).
  • Non-combustible, with 1 & 2 hour fire-rated floor/ceiling assemblies.
  • Highly resistant to weather, moisture, mold/fungus and termite/vermin attack.
  • Strong and durable, resistant to impact and abuse.
  • Easily installed using carpentry tools and equipment, for single trade installation.

CemSteel is specified and listed under CSI Division 3-03500 Cementitious Decks and Underlayment.

  • UL & ULC classified for use in fire-rated construction (UL 723, Test for Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials; UL 790, Test Methods for Fire Tests of Roof Coverings; and UL 263, Fire Tests of Building Construction and Materials).
  • Non-combustible per ASTM E136; 1 and 2 hour fire-rated floor assemblies.
  • Zero flame spread and zero smoke development per ASTM E84.

Load bearing:

  • Structurally span rated, with UL listed floor assemblies

Moisture resistance:

  • Factory sealed against water penetration.

  • Minimal dimensional changes in temperature & moisture variations

  • Fastens with traditional screw fixings, or with corrosion-resistant roofing nails from a pneumatic nail gun.

  • No food value to insects / vermin
