461 Dean, the world’s tallest modular building, features Versaroc from USAP in its decking construction.
The 32-storey tower in Brooklyn, formerly known as B2 Atlantic Yards, is a residential building designed by SHoP Architects and developed by by Forest City Ratner Companies.
It’s innovative modular construction consists of 930 steel modules, meaning around 60% of the construction has been developed off-site.
Decking comprises 19mm tongue-and-groove sealed Versaroc over metal frame.
Versaroc is a tough, durable and highly fire-resistant structural cement bonded particle board (CBPB), and its outstanding performance in loading, resistance to moisture, durability and UL listed fire resistance make it ideal for span-rated floors construction.
With dimensional accuracy down to 1/16th inch, Versaroc is also highly suitable for modular building processes.
